Additional Notes

If you identify as female, trans-female or non-binary, you are welcome! We do a reading from Strengthening My Recovery and 10 minutes of journaling to connect with our inner child/teenager. This meeting is based on the assumption that many adult children never learned how to relate to their emotions and bodies in healthy, self-loving ways. We may have a core belief that our bodies are not worthy of love and respect. We may have used disordered eating behaviors to comfort ourselves when our caregivers failed to do so, or to numb our feelings when the pain was unbearable. We help our inner child/teenager understand that these behaviors are not a loving way to relieve their pain and shame. Our feelings are OK—we don’t need to fix them, numb them, or reject them. Focus: Strengthening My Recovery
