Additional Notes
Zen Healing of Eating Disorders is a weekly meditation and mindfulness practice group grounded in Buddhist philosophy and Recovery Dharma principles. This is not a support group—it is a guided practice space where participants learn to use meditation, breathwork, grounding, and mindful awareness to gently transform their relationship to body, mind, and emotion. Why We Practice Eating disorders and body-related suffering often leave people feeling disconnected from themselves, overwhelmed by urges, or frozen in shame. Meditation offers a different way: • To create inner safety • To soothe the nervous system • To reconnect with the body • To interrupt automatic behaviors • To cultivate compassion for ourselves • To heal through shared practice This group exists to provide a peaceful weekly container where healing unfolds through practice—gently, slowly, without pressure. Guiding Principles Meditation: Developing a daily mindfulness practice for clarity and compassion. Meetings: Showing up for consistent shared practice. The Path: Applying the Four Noble Truths & Eightfold Path to healing. Inquiry & Investigation: Examining patterns with curiosity, not judgment. Sangha & Wise Friends: Strengthening practice through supportive community. Growth: Walking a lifelong path of awakening, one breath at a time.
