Organization: Sacred Spaces | County: York | Structured sober living for women. Residents are required to attend 5 recovery meetings per week, obtain sponsor, and work a 12 step program. Residents are not allowed use of cell phones for first 30 days but house phone is available for resident use during this probation period. Residents may obtain employment after completing steps 1-7 with a sponsor. Daily structure consists of: prayer/meditation, assigned chores, checkins with house director, extra assignments from house director, volunteer work, meal prep, exercise/movement. Household has family style meals. We observe day of silence one day per month. We observe great silence starting at 9pm every evening where we refrain from electronics and speech. Residents are encouraged to participate in Morning Star Recovery program and attend different spiritual growth opportunities. Residents are responsible for transportation. Curfew is 9pm every evening. Overnights with family may be granted after resident has completed steps 1-7. Residents are asked to refrain from being in relationships until after being discharged from sober living. The household participates in a spiritual retreat at the end of July every year where we travel to the Alcyon Center for a few days. There is a live-in director at the house to provide spiritual guidance and support. The house is also within walking distance to many businesses and AA meetings. Sanford has an accessible bus route as well. Please contact house director for application, house rules, and rent payment submission information.
