She is certified in ARISE Intervention and the Level 1 Invitation to Change approach, trained by Dr. Robert Meyers in CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training), and has been a Family Peer Recovery Coach since 2019. She does family interventions, leads online family support groups, coaches individual family members, facilitates family education and workshops, and does online book chats. She has a master’s degree in gerontology, the multidisciplinary study of aging over the lifespan. She completed two years toward a second master’s degree in counseling psychology but did not get licensed.
